Intelligent Heating From Farho

I was looking for a heating system that I could startup on the way home from work and after a lot of searching I found the perfect system from Farho. It was controlled by a wireless controller box that i've put in the kitchen. This box needed a sim card inserted that needs getting first apparently any network will work I had a Vodafone sim card lyeing around that had a about a fiver on it. After that you can enter up to 3 mobile numbers that you control.

This limits who else can control the box for security purposes. This box can also alert your mobile of possible floods, firm, smoke, burglar alarms etc. I also had to connect two wires to a small aerial box.

After installing the controller box I had a play with it's four buttons and it seemed really easy to figure out. I didn't need to change the language as it was in English but there's a menu to change the language if you wanted to. I then had to set the time which was a bit out but was easy to do.

The Next setp was to install the heater unit so on the controller box I set it to kitchen as this was the first place I was installing the heating unit. Then on the heaiting unit that also has four buttons it was just a matter of naigating to install and that was it that heating unit was installed and ready to go.

So it was time to try out the temperature controls on the controller box. Which is just a matter of pressing c then pressing ok on the climate menu then pressing ok again on the temperature menu then up came the area i'de setup the kitchen. Then pressing ok again seleted the kitchen then I went down to Accept and then selected the desired temperature and pressed ok again then it worked!!! I tried several different temperatures and all was working great I was controlling the heating unit from the controller box wirelessly. I was impressed with this Farho product already but I hadn't yet tried out controlling it with my mobile.

I had already entered the mobile number of the sim card into the controller box so it was time to try it out. So I thought but I hadn't entered a program so I entered a program onto the controller box. Then went to my new mobile and typed in the number of the old sim card and sent the message TEMPERATURE PROGRAMS ON. Then after about 5 seconds the heater started doing things. It worked the program I setup was running. So I sent another text saying TEMPERATURE PROGRAMS OFF then waited 5 seconds and bingo the heating unit turned itself off. Now I was really impressed.............

Then I sent the message TEMPERATURE KITCHEN 25(by the way the case didn't matter on my phone it was putting a capital T in then the rest in lower case still worked!). Then the heating unit went to 25c. So I thought this is great I can control the room temperature before I get home just send a text.

Now this thing comes with power saving already installed but it's also possible to actually control the power usage. This can save on those electricity bills it can take longer to heat up the room though but savings can be made. So i've set the heating unit to use a maximum power output at 50% and i'll see how it goes. If it takes to long to heat up the room I can increase it.

After having a good play around with these Farho products it was time to install the other two heaters. One other for the front room and one for the bedroom. I followed the same steps as earlier so all three heaters where showing on the controller unit. So now I could send a text saying TEMPERATURE PROGRAMS ON and all three come online and started heating the rooms. In the event of a heater unit not being able to connect to the controller box you might need to set another heater on repeater mode so the signal can go from the controller box to a heater then from that heater to another one. I didn't need it in my house but if you've got a big house then you might need to use it so running out of range shouldn't be a problem.

After having this Farho system for a couple of weeks I had to let others know about it and what a wonderful system it really is. Farho themselves are in Spain but have UK distributors and other countries
